About
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10).
According to the World Bank, there is a general shortage of healthcare professionals of all specialties in the DRC, and the quantity and quality of care is worsening. The DRC has 1% of the doctors and nurses that the USA has per capita. The Haut-Uele province in the North East of the DRC is the poorest and least developed region. Here in the town of Isiro, Grace Hospital is seeking to be a beacon of high quality healthcare and medical ministry to those in need.
Quality healthcare services
Grace Hospital offers quality surgery, outpatient and maternity services, and 24/7 doctor and nurse presence (otherwise non-existent in Isiro). Patients are seen expeditiously and treated with Christian compassion and high-quality care. Jean Claude Bataneni is the only residency-trained surgeon for over 100 miles radius (300 miles by road). Starting in Janaury 2025, Grace Hospital began a strategic plan to integrate evidence-based medical practices, new lab and imaging capabilities that is bringing a higher quality of clinical care and accurate diagnostics. In addition, the non-profit hospital has begun the construction of an additional 10-bed Salle D'Urgence wing, thanks to the generosity of international donors from all over the world.
Training the next generation
Beyond providing excellent services, we aspire to become a training center of excellence is initially focused on providing opportunities for local medical school graduates to gain experience and skills in an environment of medical excellence and Christian charitable ethics. This is already happening, as several junior doctors (what we would consider as residents) have eagerly joined the medical staff.
Evangelism
Due to the rapid growth of Isiro’s population, evangelization and church planting in the increasingly urban environment has been identified as a priority of the local church. The church leadership sees Grace Hospital as a key tool for spreading the gospel and it has been fully integrated with the local Christian healthcare system. Grace Hospital has a full-time chaplain who disciples the staff, actively shares the gospel with patients and their families, and provides counseling and prayer support.

Mission
Grace Hospital opened in 2022 with one mission in mind; to bring higher quality standards of healthcare to the 350,000 people living in Isiro. The 14-bed non-profit hospital serves each patient with a Christian ethos and seeks to ensure that each person that comes through the doors can hear the Gospel.
With the resources and skills that the Lord has given unto us, we seek to use to to our fullest in service of those in need. Our Christian ethos of treating everyone, both rich and poor,
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
Matthew 25: 35-36

Statement of Faith
Our Belief
1. We believe in the Bible in its entirety. That all scriptures in the bible are inspired by the Lord God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
2. We believe in one God existing in 3 persons (trinity). God-Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That God's son, Jesus who is fully God and fully Human Was sent to the World and died on the cross to redeem us by paying by his own blood for our sins and That the Holy spirit fills us with the Power to overcome satan’s plans and temptations.
3. We believe that people are created in God's image to have eternal life through Jesus Christ.
4. We believe that, although all people have sinned and come short of God's glory, God has made salvation possible through the incarnation, life, death, love and obedience are fitting responses to God's Grace toward us through the Holy spirit.
5. We believe in the resurrection which will lead those who have believed in God to the Eternal life but the lost to the Eternal suffering.
6. We believe that God created us and knows us before conception, thus, all life is valuable, sacred and should be respected and spared from conception. We are all equal in front of God, no one should end someone else's life.
7. . We believe that God created each person biological male or female. That God's plan for the two different sexes is to be complementary. God created the world (sky, seas and Earth) to be under the authority of humans. The mission of filling it passes through the sacred union between a male and female.
8. We believe in the power of prayer as the great way to connect with God in his trinity, that we are called to engage in intercessory prayer for the people and causes of God's Heart, including standing against evil in every form. That we are called to Praise and Worship God alone and strive to lead holy and righteous lives that exemplify the nature and character of God,
9. We believe that God wants us to live a communion life by sharing others’ burdens, loads, and gifts we received from Him for free. We have the great mission to preach, spread the Holy word of God with the ultimate goal of making each person we come across become a disciple of God. We also believe that the mission of treating people and leading them to healing in all dimensions is a great recommendation from God.
10.While knowing that each person is free to associate to another one to form churches or denominations, we try to transcend divisions among God's people but believe in the Universal church with only the Bible as God’s inspired word and Jesus Christ being the Leader of that church with the communion of the Holy spirit. This allows us to be open to work with other Christians regardless of their denomination, race, or socioeconomic status.
